Julienne DeVita is a designer turned futures consultant after gaining a front row seat to the catastrophic results of short-term thinking and consumption.

 

As the founder of Liminal, a design futures agency, she blends strategic foresight, systems thinking, and design methodologies to develop strategies 5+ years into the future. She has worked with organizations including the DC Department of Health, the OECD, Enterprise, EY, and Autodesk (among others).

 

Julienne is an adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design where she teaches courses AI, design, and strategic foresight to undergraduate and adult learners.

Currently, Julienne is serving as a Resident Researcher with Studio Atelierista, where she is studying embodied futuring. She also serves the chapter lead for the NYC arm of Futures Friends. In 2024, Julienne was awarded a research grant to create an AI Design Ethics Toolkit, and has published multiple peer-reviewed papers on the topic. She has presented and moderated panels at various conferences some of which include, AIGA Design Educators Conference, Primer22, Dubai Future Forum, Learn X Design, among others.
